Anita writes for adults and children and writes fiction as well as nonfiction books. She has been selected for the Barnes and Noble "Author of the Month" in Houston. Her fifteenth book will be released in 2003. Ms. Higmon has also written for radio and television and enjoys giving speeches and presentations at writers' conferences, meetings, and schools. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Commuication and Art. She is a member of The Authors Guild, SCBWI, the Texas Library Association, Associated Authors of Children's Literature, and Westerners International.
Anita was born and raised on the rolling wheat plains of western Oklahoma, but has now lived in Texas for seventeen years. Besides writing, her other interests include reading and gardening. She lives with her husband and two children near Houston. |
